Students seeking professional careers in journalism, strategic communication and other communication disciplines will plan, execute and assess social media campaigns with real-world applications. CM399/EMDA399 – STRATEGIC SOCIAL MEDIA

No longer just about funny cats and what someone had for breakfast, social media have become an essential skill and a growth opportunity for media professionals in all industries and genres. In this course, students will learn practical techniques for using social media to achieve concrete strategic goals. Students will work on social media campaigns to support commercial, journalistic, creative, or advocacy-based enterprises. Course topics will include listening, content management, analytics, networking and ethics relevant to the social media landscape today.
